For a more pvp based/wasteland like survival I would say exile. It's a pretty lightweight mod Like ~400-500MB iirc. And if you want, you can add zombies. Most servers are vanilla with various parameters or use some combination. Like Exile + Ryan Zombies, Or Exile + HLC Weapons, etc Oh yeah, Breaking Point is another awesome mod.
